AntOS Library — telnet (reference)

The telnet library's design and native core — the built-in Telnet server. The script-facing API is luau_telnet.

What it is

Server control for the Telnet console service. A connecting client gets a full AntOS console — the same commands as the local terminal — so the machine can be driven remotely over a plain TCP terminal.

Design notes

  • Shares the terminal renderer — network terminals go through the same terminal core as the local console, so colour, attributes, and the glyph set behave the same over Telnet (the renderer is Luau-agnostic, which is what makes this possible).
  • Server, not client — the outbound Telnet client (for reaching BBSes and other hosts) is a script over net/xfer; this library is only the inbound server.

Native core — libantos_telnet

sys_telnet runs the Telnet protocol and wires a session to a console instance; the binding is server control + log tailing. No Luau dependency.
