Communications
The Ant64 doesn't depend on a single network. It has multiple independent communication paths — each suited to a different situation.
| Channel | Strength |
|---|---|
| Ethernet | Performance |
| Wi-Fi | Convenience |
| LoRa | Reach and independence |
| Voice | Accessibility and resilience |
Wired & Wireless Networking
The SG2000 includes a wired 100Mbps Ethernet interface for conventional networking and high-speed data transfer.
DeMon manages a dual-band ESP-C5 Wi-Fi connection (2.4GHz + 5GHz) for wireless LAN access and over-the-air updates.
LoRa — Long-Range Radio
An integrated LoRa radio enables long-range, low-power communication directly between nearby Ant64 machines — with no internet infrastructure required.
This makes small, reliable exchanges possible over very large distances, ideal for:
- Turn-based games (chess, strategy)
- Neighbourhood messaging
- Simple status broadcasts
- Off-grid or field use
Because these links operate at different levels of the system, the machine can remain reachable even when the operating system is not running — and can still communicate with other Ant64s or receive maintenance updates when normal network access is unavailable.
Voice — CI1303 Voice Interaction Processor
The CI1303 provides always-available local speech recognition — no cloud, no login, no browser required.
Voice control works even when:
- No operating system is running
- A keyboard or mouse is unavailable
- A screen isn't usable
What Voice Control Can Do
- Launch programs
- Control games
- System management and recovery
- Interact with software
- Power off, configure, or update the machine
Combined with the DeMon supervisor, the Ant64 can be powered off, configured, updated, and contacted using either network links or spoken commands.
Because the CI1303 is entirely local — not cloud-dependent — it makes a real difference for accessibility. The computer can still be controlled in situations where traditional input devices aren't an option.
