AntOS Library — videotext (reference)

The videotext library's design and native core — a personal teletext page server. Exposed to scripts as require("vt"). The script-facing API is luau_videotext.

What it is

A small server that holds 40×25 teletext pages and serves them to a connecting client over TCP (port 6464). Pages are 2000 bytes each (40 × 25 × 2 — character + attribute), stored in DBFS tables (vt_pages, vt_config) so they persist and can be edited, imported, and exported.

Design notes

  • Pages in DBFS, served on the wire — storage is db/fs, so pages are ordinary managed data; the server just renders and streams them, with a cache the script invalidates after edits.
  • A period-authentic feature — fixed 40×25 grid, character+attribute cells, a numbered-page model — a personal broadcast station rather than a web page.

Native core — libantos_videotext

sys_videotext runs the TCP server, the page cache, and the DBFS schema; the binding is server control + cache invalidation + import/export. No Luau dependency.
