AntOS Library — printer (reference)

The printer library's design and native core — network printing over IPP. The script-facing API is luau_printer.

What it is

High-level printing: pick a printer by IPP URI (or discover one), then print a file, a string, or raw PostScript. IPP is the modern standard (CUPS, AirPrint), so the Ant64 prints to essentially any current network printer without a driver.

Design notes

  • Over the CM's network stack (net) — printers are reached by URI (ipp://host/ipp/print); no local printer hardware is involved.
  • Discovery is staged — mDNS/Bonjour discovery is stubbed for now, so a persisted seed list of known-printer URIs stands in until it lands. set_default/get_default remember the usual printer.

Native core — libantos_printer

sys_printer implements the IPP client (job submission, format handling) and the seed list; the binding marshals options and results. No Luau dependency.
