AntOS Library — led (reference)

The led library's design and native core — the RGB(W) status LED string. The script-facing API is luau_led.

What it is

A small buffered LED interface: set colours per-LED (or fill), then show() to push the frame. RGB and RGBW.

Design notes

  • Driven via Clicky on the CM5. DeMon is a Raspberry Pi with no bit-perfect WS2812 timing of its own, so it sends per-LED colour/state intent to Clicky over DeMon's housekeeping I²C — Clicky is a slave on that bus (TWI0) and clocks the WS2812 string itself. Per-LED colour and patterns are control traffic, the same delegation (and the same bus) the buzzer uses; the DeMon↔Clicky UART (DeMon UART0 / Clicky UART2) carries key input and bulk config, not LED patterns. (On the ESP32-P4 prototype the strip was driven directly: SK6812 RGBW on GPIO53 via the RMT peripheral.)
  • Buffered by design — writes accumulate; show() is the single push, so a script never produces partial frames.

Native core — libantos_led

Owns the LED buffer and the push. On the CM5 the push is the DeMon→Clicky I²C protocol (Clicky's TWI0 slave on the housekeeping bus); on the P4 it was the led_strip/RMT backend. No Luau dependency.
